Casa Jacaranda is a cottage in a small hamlet situated in the Alpujarra region of Andalucia. This mountain range is the south facing slopes of the Sierra Nevada. These mountains are covered with snow in the winter providing irrigation all year, and some skiing in the winter, the resort being around 2 hours away. The climate is very sunny in the winter and warm in the summer. The mediterranean is 45 minutes away with good roads.
It is a dry climate with wonderful walks in the nature.
The village is situated on a walking trail called the gr 142 which traverses the region.
Casa Jacaranda has beautiful views with 2 terraces overlooking the valley.
The house is around 300 years old and has been lovingly restored .
It has been used as a holiday let for the last 10 years for people who enjoy nature and tranquility. It is warm and cosy in the winter with 2 wood burning stoves, and cool in the summer due to the thick walls.
The cottage is very well equipped for a long or short term stay.
The owner lives next door and is available for meeting and greeting, and advice. It is a great location for discovering this part of Andalucia , being only 2 hours away from Granada, and Malaga. Almeria is about 1 and a half hours drive. A special price is available for weekly rentals .
Jacaranda sleeps up to 6 people.
The front terrace is enclosed and small well behaved dogs are welcome.
Access is good.
There are no shops in the village, but Ugijar is only 15 minutes drive. This market town has all facilities. The cottage has wifi.
