This lovely two-story carriage house on Garden Alley was first built in 1882 and converted into a home in the 1980s. More recently, the home was renovated in the 2000s, to include both a rooftop deck and modern fixtures throughout. The current owners have since updated and refreshed the home and adjoining garden and it was featured on the 2018 Albany Hidden City Home & Garden Tour. The house is centrally located while being "tucked away" in an alley without through traffic. The home gets a fraction of normal street traffic while having a walkability score of 95/100.
The main level of the home is open concept including a living room area, half bathroom, dining table and full kitchen with Samsung stainless steel appliances. The living room boasts gas fireplace and entertainment center with projector screen facilitated by the XboxOne console and in wall speaker setup. HBOMax is included on us! WiFi is available and set up throughout the space. In the rear of the home, there is a furnished sun room leading out to a small deck with a dining set and shared garden.
The second floor of the home includes a master bedroom and smaller bedroom/home office with an adjoining full bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen pillow top mattress and a wall mounted tv with Chromecast. The home office functions well for working professionals, with a desk, three-screen set-up and Mac operating system. The bed is a futon with memory foam cover, and can be changed over to a couch if the renter prefers. The laundry closet has a washer and dryer.
A spiral staircase leads up to a utility room and rooftop deck. The deck is furnished with lighting, two outdoor chairs and two couches, and has ideal views of the Capitol Concourse buildings.
